Educational and agricultural projects, DIVERSITY, ART… and a church
I really feel good when I participate in projects that help people such as collectives in need, or those projects that make the future of people with less economic resources better, those that create impact in the world of education and, why not, those that keep an artist’s legacy alive. Throughout my career I have participated in several projects of each type and from all of them I have taken away something good that I want to think has made me a little better person.
I would highlight, for the many years I have collaborated with them and the very close relationship with the managing team, the Amancio Ortega Foundation, from the founder and main shareholder of Inditex, the largest fashion retailer in the world. Their projects in the field of education are magnificent, and I am also especially fond of the project to improve agricultural processes in rural Tanzania.
I have the pleasure of being a collaborating member of Proxecto Máscaras Association in Galicia (Spain). Through cinema and other audiovisual media they try to break stereotypes about “normality”, people’s abilities, gender equality and the integration of diversity in public space.
I have also participated in other very interesting projects from various institutions such as Hawkings Education, Help For Children (fights child abuse), Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Coalition For the Homeless, Robert Rauschenberg Foundation (legacy of the artist), Trinity Church, The New Museum, etc.
Since 2010 there have been countless works I have done for the Amancio Ortega Foundation. From the most insignificant thing, such as a Christmas greeting, to the most intense, such as working 10 days in the savannah and the mountains of Tanzania to graphically document the progress of an agricultural project. In between, dozens of presentations, videos, graphics, motion graphics, etc.
I have worked side by side with the director of the foundation to come up with many designs and presentations for their projects and it has always been very satisfying to see the result.
Their projects are usually related to education: 600 full scholarships per year for brilliant Spanish students with few resources to attend their last year of high school in the United States and Canada, free computers for students from several schools, donation of dozens of buildings for public daycare centers, courses to improve teachers’ computer skills, classes for adults in Tanzania to train them in agricultural techniques for a better harvest and healthier cows, etc. They also stand out for their donations to public hospitals of very expensive machines for the early detection and treatment of cancer, for the creation of free centers for the elderly, and centers for treating drug addiction.
For all these projects I have had the pleasure of contributing to the way in which they are presented to show the great achievements they represent for society and its direct beneficiaries.

As part of my participation in the Association, I have collaborated in the creation of the website, which is a WordPress project, and in the design of motion graphics openers for some of their productions.
Among their productions, “Calcetines” (“Socks”) stands out, a short film in which the script, the technical team and the actors are people with intellectual disabilities. A great idea of the directors of the association, Iago and Isabel, was to film the whole process during 3 years, giving rise to the magnificent documentary film “Máscaras” (“Masks”).
This project is a collaboration with the great team of Entermedia that developed the web in Drupal for many years.
The church made a renewal in their branding and they needed a redesign of their website according to it. I redesigned the UI and some parts especially complicated from the UX point of view as the events calendar, since this church has between 5 and 10 events every day, even during Covid-19, many of them broadcast via streaming since they have privileged audiovisual facilities.
My last proposal for them was a new bolder design, taking advantage of the opening of their new headquarters, in front of the cemetery of their famous church, but the latest news is that the development in a new version of Drupal is going to be carried out by a much larger agency so this latest design will be probably lost like tears in the rain.
In 2017 the Help For Children foundation organized a fundraising concert called “HCF Rocks to Fight Child Abuse” with the participation of the band Goo Goo Dolls.
I designed and developed the landing page for the event, the newsletters, and all the graphic materials for social media. For the copy, I had the idea to combine three concepts “Help, Enjoy and Connect” that made the attendance at the event more attractive beyond the charity character.
It was a great success. The tickets were sold out.
